The IONICON PTR-MS Training Seminar 2009
IONICON Analytik organizes an intensive theoretical and practical training seminar for our customers, PTR-MS users and all others interested in our technology to be held before the 4th International PTR-MS Conference.
The preliminary program
After organizing several courses, gaining experience and most important looking through the feedback of the last years' sessions we have outlined a program including some new ideas for "hands-on PTR-MS 2009" that we would like to share with you here. Please notice that this will not necessarily be the final program.
Hands-On PTR-MS 2009 will take place on February 15-16, BEFORE the PTR-MS Conference (arrival on February 14 - rooms available at 5 p.m.). The Conference will start in the evening of February 17 (rooms for new arrivals available at 5 p.m.). Training course participants who are NOT attending the Conference will need to check-out on February 17 until 10 a.m. Check-out for participants who are staying for the Conference is February 22 until 10 a.m.
Theoretical parts (February 15) will include:
- Lecture of Dr. Armin Wisthaler of the Institute for Ion Physics and Applied Physics, University of Innsbruck, Austria, dealing with basics of analytical mass spectrometry, PTR-MS and related topics.
- Lecture (prepared by IONICON experts) on basic instrument set-up and data handling using our PTR-MS Control software.
Practical parts (February 16) will include:
- Small groups will get "hands-on" different PTR-MS instruments covering maintenance issues, calibration, software, and analytical topics. It will be 4-6 workshops with a limited number of participants per workshop headed by one of our experts. The participants will be devided into groups and will attend one workshop after the other so that everybody has a chance to get in-depths knowledge of every topic and type of instrument.
NEW in 2009 will be the possibility to book 2-hour-short-courses on all 5 conference days (February 17-21, AFTER "hands-on PTR-MS 2009"). The topics for these short courses will be individually selected together with you and will have a very individual training character as the number of participants is strictly limited and admission will be handled on a first come first served basis. This should be a chance for research groups or individual scientists to have a session with one of our experts on a specific issue that can be either a theoretical or a practical problem. Please be in contact with us well in advance if you would like to sign up for an individual short-course.
The venue of this training seminar will be the same magnificent location as the previous years: University Center of the University Innsbruck, Obergurgl, Austria.
Single-, double- and triple rooms accommodation directly at the venue will be available in a package including training course, half-board and many other amenities. Students will get reductions and there will be an early-bird rate available for you. If you are on our mailing list, you will be informed in time.
